Alloy 630 stainless steels are martensitic stainless steels that are precipitation hardened to achieve excellent mechanical properties. These steel achieve high strength and hardness following heat treatment. The heat and corrosion resistance of Alloy 630 are similar to that of Alloy 304 steels. This Alloys is also commonly referred to as grade 17-4PH.
One of the key benefits of this Alloy is that it is available in solution treated conditions, at which they can be easily machined and age-hardened to attain high strength. The age treatment of Alloy 630 is carried out at low temperatures, to avoid significant distortion. Therefore, this Alloy is used for applications such as the manufacture of long shafts that do not require re-straightening after heat treatment.

The grade is non-magnetic in all conditions and has excellent formability and weldability. The austenitic structure also gives this grade excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures.
The high chromium content promotes and maintains a passive film which protects the material in many corrosive environments. 904L has a greater resistance to precipitation of ferrite and sigma phases on cooling and welding than other stainless steels containing molybdenum such as 316L and 317L. There is no risk of intercrystalline corrosion on cooling or welding due to the low carbon content. Its maximum service temperature is at 450°C.
This grade is particularly useful in control and instrumentation tubing applications where 316 and 317L are not suitable.

Alloy 901 is an age-hardenable super alloy which contains Titanium and Aluminium for precipitation hardening and molybdenum for soild-solution strengthening. Alloy 901 has high yield strength and creep resistance at temperatures to about 1110°F (600°C). As Alloy 901 has a substantial iron content it enables alloy 901 to combine strength with good forging characteristics. Alloy 901 is commonly used for gas turbine engine discs, shafts, rings, casings and seals.

Commercially pure wrought Nickel with good mechanical properties over a wide range of temperature and excellent resistance to many corrosives, in particular hydroxides.
Good resistance to corrosion in acids and alkalis and is most useful under reducing conditions. Outstanding resistance to caustic alkalis up to and including the molten state. In acid, alkaline and neutral salt solutions the material shows good resistance, but in oxidizing salt solutions severe attack will occur. Resistant to all dry gases at room temperature and in dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride may be used in temperatures up to 550C. Resistance to mineral acids varies according to temperature and concentration and whether the solution is aerated or not. Corrosion resistance is better in de-aerated acid.
